Ms. Ong Suchern is the Assistant Project Manager and GIS Lead of the Virtual NUS project under the Department of Industrial Systems and Engineering Management (ISEM). She is currently working on various innovative geospatial initiatives in NUS, including NUS Maps, a recently-launched rich indoor navigation application.
Graduating with a degree in Geography focusing on the application of Geographic Information Science, Suchern has over 10 years' experience with geospatial work both overseas and in Singapore.
Prior to joining NUS, she was a GIS consultant and has successfully applied geospatial technology across many industries. COMPTIA CTT+ certified, Suchern has conducted numerous GIS courses for over five years.
She has an enduring interest in the application of GIS to solve real-world problems, particularly in the field of spatial analytics, transportation, and the application of GIS in humanitarian work.
