ArcPad mobile data collection solution
Manage assets, collect data and save time with ArcPad – a mobile field mapping and data collection solution designed for GIS professionals.
ArcPad includes advanced GIS and GPS capabilities for capturing, editing and displaying geographic information quickly and efficiently.
Critical data can be checked in and out of a multi-user or personal geodatabase, and shared across your organisation.
ArcPad key features
Create, edit and analyse GIS data in the form of industry-standard vector and raster image files.
ArcPad supports field devices – such as GPS receivers, range finders, barcode scanners, and digital cameras – with GIS data collection. Input stored from these devices is stored within the GIS.
ArcPad enables high-quality mapping on mobile devices, supporting ArcGIS symbology and style sheets.
Mobile applications and tasks can be customised using ArcPad Studio – the development framework for creating extensions, applets, and tools with ArcPad.
ArcPad accommodates localised languages. The ArcPad user interface is available in a number of languages, making it easier for mobile field-workers who don’t speak English as a first language.
A mobile component of ArcGIS, ArcPad integrates with desktop GIS technologies to allow field edits to be incorporated into a geodatabase through disconnected editing. It replaces the ArcPad tools for ArcGIS for Desktop that came with previous versions of ArcPad.
Using the ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension (or FME 2012), the ArcPad AXF (Archive eXchange Format) Reader lets you view AXF files in ArcGIS for Desktop. Browse the contents of your AXF in ArcCatalog, then drag and drop your AXF layers onto your map. You can also export AXF feature layers into native and external formats using ArcGIS Data Interoperability tools.
