Aw Tong Wee has been with the Singapore Land Authority — Land Survey since 2000 — from the early adoption of GIS as a digitising tool for past survey records to the development of 3D GIS data which today forms the basis of various Digital Singapore initiatives.
His projects include the creation of the first LOD 1 massing model of Singapore and mapping of the coastline using satellite images, he also developed the high-resolution Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of the island.
Aw Tong Wee holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems from the Manchester Metropolitan University. His key interests are in the field of geospatial information extraction and data science — particularly remote sensing and data analytics.
