A GIS professional for over 15 years, Chris began his career as a cartographer at the UK Hydrographic Office, providing foundation data for the Royal Navy and commercial shipping across multiple maritime jurisdictions and requirements.
He has been part of the key roll-out of a geospatial platform for the Hydrographic Office, modernising its use of GIS, evolving with Web GIS and extending this further into operational activities.
He later moved to Singapore where he continued to work in the maritime industry advising shipping companies on the latest shift in navigational changes on board from paper charting to digital navigation, using ENC and ECDIS.
At Esri, Chris is the National Government and Public Safety Lead, supporting and advising best practices in GIS and helping to establish geospatial platforms to support key operational requirements in defence, intelligence, emergency management and public safety.
