Esri Singapore has launched a unique startup program aimed at helping emerging businesses develop sustainable smart nation solutions by equipping them with sophisticated location analytics capabilities.
The company’s Startup Program provides promising businesses – that have been established for less than three years and generate less than S$1 million in revenue annually - a bundle of technology support and services worth S$250,000 for three years.
It also provides the selected startups with access to Esri Singapore’s industry-leading ArcGIS platform, allowing business owners to leverage new dimensions of data and visualisation capabilities to create breakthrough advancements and deliver truly innovative solutions that suit the future demands of their users and customers.
Esri Singapore CEO Thomas Pramotedham said, “The start-up initiative is a key component of the Esri Singapore Innovation and Jumpstart Programme that aims to support partners that develop sustainable smart nation solutions that address real-world challenges in our communities.”
Since the program was first introduced in the United States of America in 2012, hundreds of startups all over the world have benefited from using location-based analytics technology to develop breakthrough solutions for industries such as aviation, utilities, transportation, retail and media among others.
“Through this program, we look forward to playing a part in the development of sustainable smart nation solutions that address real-world challenges in our communities,” Mr Pramotedham said.
Upcoming mobility sharing system benefits from Esri Startup Programme
In Singapore, the first local startup to benefit from the Esri Startup Programme is Neuron Mobility, which will launch its shared-use mobility system later this month.
Neuron Mobility is a transport technology startup that works on providing multi-modal mobility sharing solutions allowing users to use both bicycles and e-scooters using the same mobile app.
Since May 2016, Neuron Mobility has leveraged the ArcGIS platform to analyse commuter behaviour, in order to better understand how they can distribute bicycles and electric scooters in a manner that would optimise consumer usage.
Following the roll-out, location analytics will continue to guide Neuron Mobility’s decision-making for its multi-modal sharing system, as it looks to improve last-mile connectivity for Singapore residents.
Zachary Wang, founder of Neuron Mobility said, “The Esri Startup Programme has provided us with a full-suite software platform and professional support, which a startup would typically not be able to afford. By participating in this programme, we have now been equipped with powerful tool that enables us to make informed decisions for the initial years of our business.”
